Kent Suss

Kent is the Theatre School Director at Manitoba Theatre for Young People.  He has taught theatre classes to students age 5 to adult, covering the subjects of puppetry, mask performance and construction, acting for stage and film, film-making, animation, and collective creation. 

 

He has directed many student plays at MTYP, notably the  Young Company production of Lost and Foundling in 2008, Shakespeare’s As You Like It (2004) and The Taming of the Shrew (2006), and his own script Princess Isabella and the Magic Words (2007).

 

His original musical, The Dog Party (co-written with Cheyenne Schroeder) was produced at MTYP last season.

 

Before taking on his job at MTYP Kent studied theatre at the University of Winnipeg, acted on stages across Canada, and created his own puppet and mask plays for young people.
