Drama Outreach Program
Drama is about human beings and how they behave. It enhances social awareness, stimulates creativity and teaches students to value themselves and others. For students, MTYP's drama workshops provide a playful and spontaneous approach to learning that is based on a young person's natural curiosity and desire to participate. For teachers, our workshops can provide examples and inspiration to further integrate arts-based learning into your daily curriculum.
MTYP strives to deliver the highest standard of Drama Education. Our workshop facilitators are all experienced theatre professionals and drama educators.
"My contention is that creativity now is as important in education as literacy, and we should treat it with the same status."
Sir Ken Robinson
MTYP's Drama Outreach Program provides a number of different ways to bring a fresh approach to your curriculum. We offer:
- A number of drama workshops, as well as the opportunity to customize a dramatic workshop to meet any of your educational needs.
- Professional development for educators. With the implementation of the new Manitoba Arts Curriculum a growing number of educators are inquiring about professional development possibilities here at MTYP.
- Satellite programs and residencies. One of the most rewarding ways to encounter the art of theatre is to work on a long-term project. MTYP provides the opportunity to set up a weekly course, or an in-school residency for students of any age.
